FAQ’s

Whose books do you include?

The Be Published Bookshop is for authors and writer’s groups who have published books which are NOT available through mainstream bookshops. If you’re self published and have a box of unsold books then this is the site for you.

How can I be included?

It’s easy to be included in the Be Published Bookshop.

Simply download the “Request for Inclusion” form, fill it in and sent it together with 6 copies of your book/s to:
Be Published Bookshop
PO Box 651, Eltham, Victoria, Australia, 3095.

We also encourage you to include your biography and a synopsis of each title sent for inclusion on the site. This is used to inspire readers to buy your book/s.

What if they don’t sell?

Your books are accepted by Be Published on a strictly “sale or return” basis. However, we don’t place a time limit on this. If your books sell we’ll send you a cheque and a request for replacement copies.

You can choose to replace the sold copies or not. It’s up to you. If, after sending the request, we don’t hear from you we’ll take the books off the site. How long we take to do this depends on how many books remain in stock. Obviously, if we have no stock to sell and we don’t hear from you quickly then there’s no point offering your book for continued sale.

How often are cheques sent?

We do our accounts on a monthly basis. So you should receive a cheque for any books sold in the month following that in which the sale is made.

How do I know how many are sold?

We’ll be happy to let you know how many we have in stock at any time; simply send us an email. You can, at any time, request the return of any unsold copies. Naturally, at that time, we would have to pull your book/s from our Bookshop.

What’s your commission?

As an introductory offer for submissions to the bookshop, books submitted before October 1, 2006 we will only charge 20% of the selling price of the book and only on books sold. After October 1, 2006, the commission will be a still very competitive rate of 30%. We never charge anything to offer your book for sale. The commission calculation does not include postage and handling which we charge separately to the purchaser.
